Sage-Grouse and Captive Rearing

October 2017 - Recent news reports and policy discussions have mentioned the use of captive rearing as a viable alternative for sage-grouse conservation. The North American Grouse Partnership does not support this practice for mitigation or augmentation of wild sage-grouse populations or their habitats. Our position is based on the current science and professional judgement of grouse biologists. Please download the position statement below for more information and click on the link for an annotated bibliography of the captive rearing science related to sage-grouse.
